VDS hosted the Rubik’s Cube Competition on Saturday, February 9. Over 60 students and 100 parents from the 3 Coachella Valley School Districts attended the individual and team events. CVUSD teams included students from Oasis and Valle Del Sol. Our own Isaac Burkett was able to solve the cube in 39 seconds and take home a silver medal in the individual solving competition. For the team competition, 8 students needed to solve 25 cubes in the fastest time possible. Valle Del Sol received 2nd place in the 6th grade division by solving the 25 cubes in 5 minutes and 25 seconds. Thank you to Mr. Carman for organizing this event and everyone else that assisted and participated to make this such a fantastic event.
